Winter Afterschool Clubs

Clubs run Tuesday afternoons for 6 weeks from 4:15 - 5:30pm (Students remain at Wiley upon dismissal and are supervised until clubs begin).

The Wiley PTA coordinates three six-week sessions of clubs throughout the school year. The clubs are administered by TEK, which pays our teachers to lead the clubs. Participation in clubs supports our teachers. TEK will send club placement information once registration is closed.

Club Dates: Tuesdays, 1/28/25 - 3/4/25

Registration Opens: Monday, 12/9/24 at 6 pm

  Registration Closes: Tuesday, 1/14/25

Winter Wonders-Exploring STEAM and Literature

Grades K-1 ​Taught by Sharon Abel 

Do you ever wonder why it snows, how animals stay warm in the Arctic, or if there is anything colder than ice? Join us and all the answers to these questions with Ms. Abel. Each week she will share some of her favorite Winter books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a craft project, a science project, or a yummy snack. This club will be a fun-filled way for your child to improve their reading confidence, vocabulary, creativity, and communication skills. Join us as we discover what makes winter wonderful!

Chess Mates 

Grades K-5 Taught by Mackenzie Dull

Come learn all about the exciting game of chess! This playful clear-cut game encourages problem solving and analytical skills, positive self-esteem, as well as verbal and memory reasoning. Join the chess club and become a critical thinker as you learn the skills to play this fun, thought provoking game. This club is geared to beginner and intermediate players. Repeat club members welcome- we’ll pick up right where we left off!

Secret Agents of Kindness Club - S.A.K.C

Grades K-5 Taught by Mary Jane Thompson 

Have you always wanted to be a secret agent? Do you enjoy doing kind things for others? Do you like to make people smile and spread joy? Then you should join S.A.K.C. Secret Agents of Kindness club! In the "Secret Agents" club students perform anonymous acts of kindness for their friends, family and fellow students. Kindness projects will include a compliments bookmark challenge, creations of kindness origami pots, and much more. Come join the S.A.K.C and see how cool kindness can be! 

Lights, Camera, Action! Drama Club

Grades 2-5 Taught by Katie Ware

Come and take the stage in this interactive drama club!  We will learn the art of acting through creative games and teamwork as well as working on delivering quality scenes or numbers! Improvisation, creativity, self-confidence and communication are just some of the important skills drama can provide.  Have your child stretch their dramatic muscles by learning key acting skills in an engaging setting.  Come to center stage and join the drama fun!

Creative Kids! 

Grades 2-5 Taught by Stephanie Bryant 

Would you like to be a published author? Come join this creative, digital club and grow your skills as an author and illustrator with the program Write Readers! During our session, we will use the program to craft stories and then create illustrations to go alongside them. The Write Reader program will allow you to combine your stories and illustrations into an amazing published piece to share with family or friends. There are options to voice record alongside the text and upload or design images as well for illustrations. The finished products will be book store worthy! Don’t miss out on this chance to become an outstanding author and illustrator!

Scrapbooking Club

Grades 2-5 Taught by Payton Cummings  

Do you love to create and express yourself? Then this is the club for you! During our time together, students will learn how to create memories through imagination, magazines, art, and so much more. Each week we will work on our scrapbooks with weekly themes.  On the last day of the club, students will have the opportunity to present their scrapbooks to classmates! Scrapbooking is a GREAT way to make new friends, express yourself through art,  and make keepsakes!

STEM Palooza 

Grades 3-5 Taught by Mr. Q

We are heading on a STEMtastic mission where we will explore the world of science through hands-on experiences. We will investigate the science behind engineering, biology, and chemistry with cool experiments and projects. We will engineer balloon rockets, explore the properties of magnetism with magnetic slime, and much more. Don't miss out on this amazing STEMtastic experience! Repeat students welcome - new activities!!
