Gratitude and Farewell
Dear Wiley PTA Members,
As my term as Wiley PTA President draws to a close, I am writing to express my deep gratitude for your collaboration, commitment, and friendship. This year, we have accomplished so much, and I am so grateful for the wonderful Wiley community.
Here are some 2022/23 highlights that we've made possible together:
Our playgrounds now have shade! This week's installation is just the beginning – we are hopeful for even more shade in the future.
The creation of the Garden Boxes with an edible garden - a testament to our commitment to sustainability and hands-on learning for our children.
The establishment of the Piedmont Prairie, a fantastic project that not only beautifies our school, combats erosion, but also provides a valuable learning environment.
Our Fall Festival and International Carnival were both resounding successes, fostering community, fun, and celebration.
Our Chess Program and Afterschool Clubs have continued to flourish. Next year we have partnered with Triangle Chess to build on our momentum.
The magnificent Talent Show was an unforgettable display of our students' diverse talents.
The incredible Teacher Appreciation Week and Winter Thanks which showed our teachers, staff, IAs, admin just how much we appreciate their dedication and hard work.
The Fall and Spring Book Fairs were a triumph, promoting a love for reading and learning while adding books to classroom libraries and the media center. The Book Fairy program ensured that all students received a book regardless of ability to pay.
The Cultural Arts program has truly been a joy, with initiatives like the batik banner that now adorns a Wiley hallway.
The spectacular Wiley Wear online shop, fostering a vibrant display of school spirit among our students, teachers/staff, and families throughout the year.
The Fun Run was not only an incredible day of fitness and fun, but we also championed sustainability with that incredible t-shirt that was given to every student.
The Family Gardens and Grounds Workdays brought us together in service of our shared environment.
Thanks to the generosity of a couple Wiley PTA families, every student received a yearbook this year, regardless of their ability to pay – a true embodiment of the Wiley Way!
I want to express my deepest appreciation to PTA members, the executive committee, volunteers, and donors. Your time, resources, and tireless efforts have been the driving force behind these accomplishments.
Looking to the future, I encourage everyone to sign up for a committee next year!
As I pass the torch to Marilyn, our new PTA President, and the incoming Executive Committee Terence, Lauren, Carie and Amanda, I wish them every success in the upcoming year.
Have a great summer and stay in touch!
Bridget
