History of the Wiley School sign

Did You Know?

Passing by our school on St. Marys Street, you might have noticed some much-needed rehabilitation work on the historical Wiley School sign was recently completed! Thanks to Roland Maurer (Wiley class of 2002) returning to complete this project and restore a welcoming beacon on the front lawn.

Did you know that this sign was originally constructed nearly 40 years ago? Members of the Wiley community have contributed over the years to replace rotting wood and provide fresh paint. Check out these interesting photos and timeline documenting its history!

1985 - Original sign construction

1993 - Sporting a neutral color scheme

2024 - Before, during and after restoration!
