Winter Afterschool Clubs
The Winter Afterschool Clubs session will run for six weeks from January 30 - March 12, 2024 (Skipping 2/20 - Teacher Workday). Clubs will run on Tuesday afternoons from 4:15 - 5:30pm.
The Wiley PTA coordinates three six-week sessions of clubs throughout the school year. The clubs are administered by TEK, which pays our teachers to lead the clubs. Participation in clubs supports our teachers.
Registration opens on Friday, December 8th at 9am and will close on Monday, January 8th at 5pm.
Move It! Groove It! - Fun with STEAM & Literacy
Grades K-1
Taught by Sharon Abel
Come explore the world of STEAM as we move and groove! In this hands-on club we will move and groove by investigating all kinds of moving objects such as helicopters, parachutes, and more. We will even discover movement through chemical reactions and explosions! Each week we will read an exciting picture book that connects to our STEAM topic. Grab your lab coats for this one of a kind STEAMtastic adventure!
Chess Mates
Grades K-5
Taught by Molly Strom and Mackenzie Dull
Come learn all about the exciting game of chess! This playful clear-cut game encourages problem solving and analytical skills, positive self-esteem, as well as verbal and memory reasoning. Join the chess club and become a critical thinker as you learn the skills to play this fun, thought provoking game. This club is geared to beginner and intermediate players.
Animal Adventures In Art
Grades 1-4

Calling all animal lovers! Each week, we will learn about a new animal, its habitat, and exciting facts before diving into a craft that showcases its uniqueness. We will explore various 2D and 3D art techniques as we explore through artistic animal adventures. This club is perfect for students who love animals, science, nature, and art!
STEAMtastic Adventures with Dr. Seuss
Grades 1-3

Come celebrate the beloved author Dr. Seuss! We will spend each club session diving into one of his famous books and exploring his unique and puzzling stories. After reading each fascinating tale, you will have fun creating an exciting project that connects to the book. Some days we will create art, others STEM projects and we might even cook up some kooky concoctions! The possibilities are endless!
3D/Fiber Art Fun!
Grades 2-5

Calling all artists to come explore the world of 3D/Fiber art! In this cool, unique club students will create pieces of 3D art and fiber art such as string mache bowls, foil sculptures, and much more! You will be inspired by working on fun projects and walk away with some beautiful new 3D pieces of artwork. Don’t miss out on this amazing art experience!
Lego Creators
Grades 2-5
Taught by Challie Guerra
For the Lego enthusiast, this club is a Lego explosion of building, creativity, activities, and fun. Rotating centers with varied themes, including vehicle building, rolling objects, and much more. Students will focus on the fundamentals of engineering skills as they explore real world problems, learn to design, and create unique solutions. Crazy Quilters
Grades 2-5
Taught by Erica Penny
In this creative club students will create their very own mini crazy quilt from start to finish in this sewing circle. Students will learn to hand sew, use a sewing machine (supervised), and learn the steps to making a quilt. We will also read some children’s story books about quilts as we learn all about the art of quilting!
Power Yoga
Grades 3-5
Taught by Payton Cummings
Join us each week as we learn how to focus on how to lift each other up and love ourselves for who we truly are. In this club we will practice basic and challenging yoga poses together. Also, we will journal, meditate, and support each other. The club activities will focus on positive self-image, self-love, and kindness towards ourselves and others.
