A successful year for Wiley Band!

After spending a year learning virtually, the Wiley Band was excited to get back together to bring music to the halls of Wiley once again!

Our wonderful band director, Lisa Burn, taught Beginning Band on Monday and Wednesday mornings, and Continuing Band on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school.

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students are eligible for Wiley Band, and after one year in Beginning Band, musicians move into Continuing Band. Students performed for families and arriving students in December.

In February, the Continuing Band joined the Ligon Middle School Bands on stage at Ligon for their winter concert. It was a great experience for the Wiley students to play with the large middle school band ensembles on the big stage! This experience got the Wiley musicians excited for the middle school band.

The year culminated with the Beginning and Continuing Bands performing their Spring Concert on the stage in the Wiley Learning Commons. Wiley friends, families, faculty, and alumni joined this celebration of the first time the Wiley Band had performed live on that stage since Spring 2019!

It was an excellent year for Wiley Band, and we look forward to continuing to grow and make music next year.
