2023 Wiley Fun Run

The 9th annual Wiley School Fun Run is Wiley PTA’s biggest fundraising event of the year!

The event brings together our entire Wiley school community for fun, fitness, and fundraising. The event raises money to fund programs, materials, and activities provided by Wiley's PTA, a team of parent and teacher volunteers working together to support Wiley Elementary School's mission of inspiring and empowering globally competent students to investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action.

About the Fun Run

The Fun Run is a fitness-based fundraiser that requires no selling. The program is pledge-based, meaning the students will gather monetary pledges for the laps they run on Fun Run day, March 30th. All fitness levels and abilities are welcomed and supported -- all students will receive ‘credit’ for running 35 laps.

Theme

This year, the Fun Run has a National Parks theme entitled Grand Land Adventure! It’s all about inspiring students to be active with a focus on gratitude, stewardship, bravery, perseverance, and wonder.

How the Funds are Used

Our goal for this year’s Fun Run is $23,000 in net proceeds. These funds will go toward funding important PTA-supported school initiatives such as teacher supply stipends, direct school needs, educational programming, cultural programs, school beautification, technology updates, shade for the playground, and more.

In the previous year’s Fun Run, funds were used for :

  • Teacher enrichment programs

  • Art installation and capital improvements

  • Field trips

  • Classroom supplies and learning aids

  • Software such as Raz kids, Typing Without Tears

Fun Run and the Wiley Way

Through the years, Wiley has adapted the Fun Run to ensure an equitable experience for all children without regard for financial or physical abilities. Students will receive ‘credit’ for running 35 laps, no matter the number they actually run. Also, all prizes and friendly competitions are based on grade level rather than individual level, so all children will participate in the fun, regardless of their family’s financial participation.

How it Works

Starting on March 8th, using a phone, tablet or computer, parents are asked to register their child on the Booster website. Start by going to mybooster.com, click ”sign up” and then search for “Wiley Elementary Fun Run” and enter in your family’s details. Here you can upload your child’s photo, which creates their personalized Student Star Video. After registering, click the share button to send a link to the video and information about the Fun Run to family, friends, neighbors, etc. to gather per lap or flat pledges for your child.

Our Partnership with Booster

To minimize reliance on the precious time of our parents, teachers, and administration for this labor-intensive program, the PTA has re-enlisted the help of Booster. Over 6,400 schools in 37 states have trusted Booster to help them with similar fundraising programs over the last 20 years.
