Spring Club Topics Announced

Wiley Afterschool Clubs run on Wednesday afternoons from 4:15 - 5:30 pm. The Spring Session will run for six weeks, from Wednesdays, April 19 - May 24, 2023.

The Wiley PTA coordinates three six-week sessions of clubs throughout the school year. The clubs are administered by TEK, which pays our teachers to lead the clubs. Participation in clubs supports our teachers.

Registration opens on March 14th at 6 pm and closes on March 30th at 6pm.

Spring Into STEAM 

Grades K-1    ​Taught by Sharon Abel 

Come join Ms. Abel for a STEAMtastic experience! Each week Ms. Abel  will share some of her favorite books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a  STEAM activity. Students will read some exciting titles such as, Spring Is Here, and create a butterfly balloon challenge, Rosie Revere the Engineer, and design parachutes , The Great Eggscape,and investigate the science of sound much more!

Chess Mates

Grades K-5 Taught by Molly Strom and Mackenzie Dull

Come learn all about the exciting game of chess! This playful clear-cut game encourages problem solving and analytical skills, positive self-esteem, as well as verbal and memory reasoning. Join the chess club and become a critical thinker as you learn the skills to play this fun, thought provoking game. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or an experienced chess player, you will have an amazing time all while sharpening your mind! Players will be grouped according to their level and instruction will be given for appropriate levels. Repeat and new students welcome!

Crack the Code - Mystery Club 

Grades 1-4 Taught by Morgan Outler

Are you ready to put on your detective hat? In this club your problem solving skills will be tested as you investigate and solve mysteries and take part in exciting treasure hunts.  We will use strategies like real investigators to solve the crimes. There will even be hands-on detective work to be done with finger printing, invisible ink and more. Students will love to put on their detective hats and crack the code!

DIY-Not? 

Grades 1-5 Taught by Katie Ware 

In this workshop-style club students will use their creativity and math skills  (shhhh, don’t tell!) to create one-of-a-kind projects each week. Projects include slime, jewelry, lip balm, reusable grocery bags, and more. Come join the DIY fun!

Team Sports Club - Team work makes dream work! 

Grades 2-5 Taught by Ryan LaVanway 

Are you interested in learning and developing skills in a variety of team sports? During this fun filled club, you will learn how to strategically work together and play some awesome games! Emphasis will be placed on skills, rules and lead-up activities for each game. Good sportsmanship and team cooperation will be required and stressed. Come join the ultimate sports club that will be a huge hit!

STEM Palooza

Grades 2-5 Taught by Quentin Murray 

We are heading on a STEMtastic mission where we will explore the world of science through hands-on experiences. We will investigate the science behind engineering, edible science, and chemistry with cool experiments and projects. Get ready to build unique structures, explode some concoctions, and delve into some exciting STEM challenges. Don't miss out on this amazing STEMtastic experience!

Crazy Quilters 

Grades 2-5 Taught by Erica Penny 

In this creative club students will create their very own mini crazy quilt from start to finish in this sewing circle.  Students will learn to hand sew, use a sewing machine (supervised), and learn the steps to making a quilt.  We will also read some children’s story books about quilts as we learn all about the art of quilting!

Reggae Dance

Grades 2-5 Taught by Denya Hewitt 

Come and learn the basic Jamaican dance moves in this interactive club. We will work on new steps each week and then put all of our moves together. Come join the fun. You will leave dancing like a Jamaican!


Booking It Around the World - Global Studies Club  

Grades 2-5 Taught by David Spiker

In this cultural  club students will learn about countries and cultures from around the world. Our activities will include reading folk stories and multicultural books,  creating cool crafts, playing unique global games and more. Come explore the world with us!
