Wiley Chess Club Competes in US Chess Tournament
Our Wiley Chess Club competed in its first-ever U.S. Chess Federation chess tournament, today.
More than 250 students from 50 schools played in today's event! 108 students, including our Wiley team, were playing in their first US Chess-rated event.
The goals of Triangle Chess's tournaments are to "have fun" and "gain experience," and our team did both! The team came home with several wins and competed against some good, experienced opponents. They did great, and are building their experience for future events!
Congrats!
Thank you to Wiley Chess Coach Jerry Nolte, Wiley teachers Ms. Strom and Ms. Dull, and the Indermauer Chess Foundation!
